Abel Page
(Lot 2, Block 5)

Abel Page was a church deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Page is said to be the first nurseryman in the valley. He provided fruits and vegetables to the settlers of Grand Rapids.

Page and his wife (Zilpha) had three children, one of the daughters, Loraine, married William Almy Richmond.

This monument is made of cast iron, produced by the American White Bronze Co. in Chicago, IL. These White Bronze metal monuments were produced in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s as a cheaper form of memorialization. These monuments were also popular for being able to add information to the panels without removing the whole monument.
